FORMAL EDUCATION

Focusing on the importance of education, CLARA has initiated the educational program for the children who does not have access and facilities to get proper education. St. Treasa Girls High School is primarily considering to educate children for their social uplift in society.

Monitoring of 2 Missionary Schools

Keeping in view the efficient working of CLARA, we have been given the responsibility of two school located in Nazimabad (54 students) and Railway colony (110 students) to create opportunity of education for extremely poor and deserving children. CLARA is helping in paying off fee of some most deserving children.

Story of Umair Babar.

Keeping in view the efficient working of CLARA, we have been given the responsibility of two school located in Nazimabad (54 students) and Railway colony (110 students) to create opportunity of education for extremely poor and deserving children. CLARA is helping in paying off fee of some most deserving children.

Umair has four brothers and sisters. Due to his father’s addiction, he had to leave school, because instead of helping his children, he was selling the household things to fulfill his own expenses. His mother was working as housemaid and her income was not sufficient to bear all the expenses.
So she decided to take away her children from school. But Umair was keen to get education. One of staff of school came to know his problem and CLARA decided to support this child to continue his education. Now he is regularly attending school. His mother is also happy at the step taken by CLARA.

Educational Tour: “Educational tours have helped the students to enhance their knowledge”.

An educational tour was conducted for the students of 3 schools being run by CLARA. The major concern of the tour was to provide an exposure to enhance their knowledge and learning which could help in their education. 100 students along with their teachers joined for this tour. Children visited the historical places in Lahore and zoo as well.

Students were happy to visit, what they had been reading and watching in their books, they were able to see in practical. At this moment teachers helped the students to describe about the history and other related questions of the students.

Kids Games 2014

CLARA organizes kids game every year. The purpose of these games is to create the spirit of sports and togetherness in children . This year these games were organized with the help of “Peace through Sports and Education”(PTEAS). The components of these games were: Dance & singing competition , Tableau, Frog Race, One leg race, and tug of war. 120 children actively participated in it. This activity became an effective source to highlight the abilities of kids.

District Coordination Officer (DCO), Faisalabad and His Excellency Bishop Joseph Arshad were the chief guests of the kids games 2014. They encouraged the children to take part in games as much as possible, because our country need good players and sportsman as well.

During the prize distribution ceremony, the Executive Secretary, Salva Rafiqe joyfully expressed, that these games for kids are very important to make a healthy & peaceful Pakistan. She further said that she is hopeful, that these games will become a source of tackling challenges in the practical life of kids. We always dream for peaceful and prosper Pakistan.

A protest against the attack on Joseph Colony, Lahore

Against the brutal attack on the Joseph Colony, Lahore which resulted a big damage of the property and house of Christians. About 100 houses were burnt and everything was destroyed in the houses.

To show solidarity with the suffering Christians, the students of St. Treasa’s Girls High school and other educational centers protested against this action taken by the mob upon giving a serious trouble to Christian on March 17, 2014. The purpose of the protest was to say “NO” to such activity which goes against the human. Now inhuman action can not be accepted which put people in suffering. We want a peaceful Pakistan was the slogan of the students.

Christmas Celebration 2014

Christmas brings with it the message of Joy, Love and Hope. To celebrate Christmas in a more meaningful way, St. Treasa Girls’ High School organized a program with school and working children of CLARA. 120 children took part in the program. The purpose of the program was to involve the marginalized segments to show solidarity with them. The children presented the Tableau and Christmas Carols very beautifully. The parents of the children were also invited to see the performance of their children. At the end of the program, the prizes and gifts were distributed among the children. In her words, Salwa Rafiq (Executive Secretary) CLARA expressed her joy and appreciated the teachers and parents, who have played an effective role to move children towards education.
