CLARA – Concern-Lane Alliance for Rural Areas

HOSTEL PROVISION FOR MARGINALIZED YOUNG GIRLS
CLARA initiated an income generation program through entrepreneur skill for young women aging 14 to 24 years living in the slum areas, belonging to the poor families. The prime objective of the program was to provide short term trainings to these young girls/women for their recognition and uplift in the society, that they may share the financial burden of their families and along with this, they could raise an educated generation in the long run. CLARA believes, that skill is an effective channel to bring up a positive change in the society, and for this a women can play a vital role in its upbringing.
To achieve these objectives, a hostel facility had also been provided to the above mentioned young girls/women. They were brought from the remote areas to stay in the hostel and learn skill. The awareness provided to the young women have paved a path for them to take right decision in life and instead of wandering like a useless tool, now they have become a useful segment of the society, who can effectively work and take their families of the ways of progress.
